Assload of Games Vols 1 and 2
In volumes one and two of our 50th episode we discussed games. All kinds of games from board games to card games. Here's a list of all the games we mention and where you can find them. As well as the games Pattie had on her list but didn't get a chance to talk about.
Pattie's List
Azul - the mosaic tile game. Here's a quick 4 minute how to play video.
7 Wonders Duel - the two player version of the game 7 Wonders. It is not easy to pick up on how to play out of the box. The instructions assume you are familiar with the game mechanics from 7 Wonders and leave a lot out. Here's a how to play video.
Pandemic - A cooperative play game where all players are working together to stop the spread of disease. Watch Wil Wheaton and friends play the game on this 2012 episode of Table Top
Lost Cities - The two player expedition game that is extremely math heavy. Watch a gameplay walkthrough here.
Exploding Kittens - the hot potato with cats card game. Watch the creator explain how to play here.
Ticket to Ride - a fun for the whole family game of creating train routes across the country. Watch Wil and Anne Wheaton along with some friends play on this episode of Table Top
Pizza Party - the two player dice game. each additional game you buy will add two more players so the number of players is only limited by the number of games you have. Here's a walk through video.
Tsuro - The game of the path where you want to be the last man standing. A 2 minute walk through can be watched here. or Table Top has an episode where they play Tsuro along with Zombie Dice and Get Bit.
Bears vs Babies - from the creators of Exploding Kittens it's Bears vs Babies. Here's the official how to play video from the folks who made the game.
Not mentioned on the show:
Talisman - the is a fantasy role playing game where you compete against your fellow players to reach the center of the board for the magical Crown of Command to destroy your foes and rule the world. The videos on YouTube for how to play are, at minimum, 20 minutes long. Aint no one got time for that. If you want to see how the game is played, prepare for the nerd-fest. It is a GREAT game and a lot of fun. But watching people explain how to play is a snoozefest.
Betrayal at House on the Hill - a game where you get to be in a B-Horror Movie. Watch Wil Wheaton and friends play the game on Table Top
Munchkin - amazingly fun role playing card game without all that annoying role playing. Watch the Table Top episode where they play. There are SO MANY expansions and different versions out there. There is a version that comes with a board for those who need that.
Fluxx - see it played on Table Top.
Love Letter and Coup - Table Top has an episode where they play both of these "micro games" where bluffing is the key.
Organ Attack and the brand new Anxiety Attack are two games from the creator of the Heart vs Brain comics, The Awkward Yeti. In Organ Attack you want to keep your organs alive and free from disease. You play disease cards on the other players' organs in an attempt to infect and kill them. Last organ standing is the winner. Anxiety Attack has just been shipped out to all the Kickstarter backers. But it's a game about anxiety. You want to be the last player down the anxiety spiral. Follow the link to the Awkward Yeti store where both games are listed and a video of how to play is included. Order directly from the artist/creator cuz he's the coolest and deserves your hard earned dollars.
